How I got here.
I started my career in broadcast journalism, where I learned how to find the story, ask better questions and make complicated things understandable.
That eventually took me into marketing, but the way I work hasn’t changed much. I want to understand the problem before deciding what we’re making. Then I like figuring out how to actually make it happen.
I’m happiest somewhere between the whiteboard and the to-do list. I like figuring out what we’re trying to accomplish, building the program or system around it, and staying close enough to the work to know whether it’s actually working.
That might mean building a content program from scratch, developing a campaign, interviewing a subject-matter expert, writing the copy, managing the project or getting on camera myself.
Outside of work, I run marathons, write personal essays and poetry, and live with two very large dogs: Tesla, a husky named for Nikola Tesla, and Macy, a malamute.
I also have a lot of plants, including a 60+ year-old night-blooming cactus that belonged to my grandpa and that I managed to save. And yes, I once got a fit of the giggles on live TV.
